To develop a strong and sustainable library network in order to benefit the development of the country and become a lifelong learning society.
The operation of provincial university library network is in the board of committees which there is the director from each library as the committee in order to administrate the network and rotate as the president. There is a membership fee collected for the network administration along with a 5-year strategic plan and a working group in accordance with the mission. At present, there are five working groups consisting of Service Working Group, Journal Working Group, Local Information Working Group, Information Technology Working Group and Library Quality Development Working Group which members of the network must also participate in each working group.
For the first time, the emblem of provincial university library network is pictures of book. There are also pictures of Thailand presented to all regions over the country and dynamic circle that constantly rotates, showing the ever-changing technology and network cooperation.
Later, English letters “PULINET” were added to the bottom. Until 2013, there was a competition for the network’s emblem. The winner was Mr. Somphop Eiadsee from the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, Walailak University Library. This emblem is used as a symbol of the network at present.
The concept of designing the emblem consist of using dots to identify the position for each university in different regions, reducing groups to major groups for only six positions, and using a dragline to connect among different locations. This emblem looks like English letter “P” which is the first letter of PULINET and followed by the acronym “PULINET” on the right side as well as the sentence “Provincial University Library Network” is below the acronym “PULINET”
